Passing the Fields in Fiji is based on a photo I took from the window of the bus on the way to our hotel in Fiji. We had a family holiday in Fiji to celebrate my mum's 80th birthday and I was so excited to have the opportunity to have all my family together for this trip. It was hot but overcast and cloudy and there had been recent rain and the fields looked particularly lush. This painting feels quite expressive to me and I enjoyed the bigger, bolder brush strokes - hope you like it!
