I took a bunch of photos last December and this is the first painting to capture the beautiful colours of the foreground and boy, did I have fun painting this! Artists talk about the flow state, where time just passes without any idea it's happening and that's exactly what happened to me when I was working on this piece. I went from staring at a half-baked idea to a holding a completed painting with aching hands and a sore back in the blink of an eye!
